'Fight Nights' returns to The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on April 29th

The best boxing action will return to The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Friday, April 29, 2011, to present the second occurrence of the series, "Fight Night at The Cosmopolitan"

The event labeled as “Molina vs. Conyers' will be televised live on ESPN2's "Friday Night Fights." The night's main event will feature Chicago's "King" Carlos Molina (17-4-2, 5 Kos) vs. Allen "The Dream Shatterer" Conyers (12-4, 9 Kos) in a 10-round junior middleweight bout that is sure to bring the action to the heart of the Las Vegas strip. Molina vs. Conyers wil also replace the originally scheduled Victor Cayo vs. Lamont Peterson fight, which had to be called off due to an injury to Cayo. Scheduled for the undercard are undefeated Cuban super featherweight Rances Barthelemy (11-0, 9 KO's), and Texas lightweight Hylon Williams Jr., (13-0, 3 KOs) in separate bouts.

"Both of these fighters are coming off the biggest fights of their careers. They both want to continue the momentum they've built by scoring another big win and both guys rarely take a step back in a fight. It will be a real treat for the fans. It's a can't-miss brawl and we've got it!" said event promoter Leon Margules of Warriors Boxing Promotion.

Tickets can be purchased in person at The Cosmopolitan of LV box office. Doors for this event will open at 4:30 pm. The first fight is at 5:00 pm and the main event will begin promptly at 6:00 pm.

MTV to host first O Music Awards at Mystery Las Vegas Location

MTV Notwork has recently revealed that its inaugural O Music awards, a special event honoring and celebrating the art, creativity, personality, technology and digital distribution, will be held in Las Vegas on April 28th at 11:00 p.m. ET.

The official location of the O Music Awards show has not been announced yet, however, the event organizers promise a wild start that will include a flash mob descending on a "surprise iconic Las Vegas location" that will serve as the backdrop for the new awards show.

The live, hour-long online event will be streamed live on MTV.com, VH1.com and LogoTV.com, and also on mobile Web and the MTV News app, as well as MTV's international websites. According to organizers, the show will feature live performances by world renown music artists and bands, including Mumford & Sons, Lupe Fiasco, Lil B, Chiddy Bang, Matt & Kim, Edward Sharpe, Old Crow Medicine Show and Foster the People, along with appearances by Ke$ha, Cee Lo Green, B.o.B, Wiz Khalifa, Robyn and Theophilus London.

Voting began on April 6th in categories such as Best Fan Cover, Innovative Music Video, Fan Army FTW, Funniest Music Short, Innovative Artist and Must-Follow Artist on Twitter. So far, more than two million votes have been cast by fans since the nominations were announced about two weeks ago.

Lady Gaga and Odd Future's Tyler the Creator lead with three nominations each, followed by Kanye West, the Flaming Lips and Nicki Minaj with two nods apiece.

Additional nominated artists include Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Justin Bieber, Lil B, Wiz Khalifa, Robyn, OK Go, Katy Perry and iamwhoiam. Other nominees include Antoine Dodson/ Gregory Brothers (Funniest Music Short); the Lonely Island (Funniest Music Short); Funny or Die (Funniest Music Short); 50 Cent, Rebecca Black and Bert (Favorite Animated GIF); the Hype Machine (Best Music Discovery Service); Pandora (Best Music Discovery Service); Tiny Desk Concerts (Best Performance Series); Gorilla vs. Bear (Best Independent Music Blog); and Marshall Jones (Best Music Hack).

To continue with the unpredictable nature of the show, the final three awards will be announced on April 29th. The mysterious award show will be preceded by a series of festivities set to kick off on Monday, April 25th. with the naming of two or more of the fan-voted award winners every day in the run-up to the big show. At 2:30 a.m. ET on the day of the show, Chiddy Bang's Chidera "Chiddy" Anamege will attempt to snag the Guinness World Records title for the "Longest Freestyle Rap," which fans will be able to watch in real time at O Music Awards site.

Elton John's new 'Million Dollar Piano' show to premiere at Caesars Palace on Sept. 28th

World-renowned singer, songwriter and performer, Elton John will return to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Las Vegas with an all new show set to begin on September 28th, 2011. The new show titled “Million Dollar Piano” will mark the beginning of a three-year residency at The Colosseum and his second as a Caesars Palace headliner.

“Caesars Palace is just a perfect, idyllic place to play, and the show will be a gargantuan feast of music and imagery. I’m going to have a fabulous piano that Yamaha has been working on for four years, and that’s the reason why the show is called ‘The Million Dollar Piano.’ commented Elton.

Previous to this new show, Elton completed a highly successful five-year residency at Caesars Palace in April of 2009 with the critically acclaimed “The Red Piano.” Originally booked for 75 shows over the course of a three-year run, “The Red Piano” was extended for a total of 241 shows over a five-year period. Elton will be accompanied by his band, which includes Davey Johnstone on guitar, Bob Birch on bass, John Mahon on percussion, Nigel Olsson on drums and Kim Bullard on keyboards with a special appearance by percussionist Ray Cooper.

Super Chevy Show returns to The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway from April 29-May 1

The legendary Super Chevy Show will come back to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for an exciting three day drag racing event running from April 29th to May 1st at the Strip inside LVMS. Activities include all-Chevrolet drag racing, a car show, autocross, manufacturers’ midway and swap meet. All participating cars must be Chevrolet-bodied or Chevrolet/GM-powered (example LS engine). Categories include Corvette Challenge, Fifth-Gen Gen Camaro Shootout, True Street Class and more.

Joining previously announced chefs, Alain Ducasse, Hubert Keller, Joël Robuchon and Julian Serrano, will be Jean-Philippe Maury, Michael Mina, Bradley Ogden, Roland Passot, André Renard, Jacques Torres and J. Joho, all of whom will prepare delectable courses for this unforgettable evening. Collectively, this group represents the brightest constellation of award-winning chefs gathered to prepare a formal meal.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship will return to the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on May 28th for UFC 130 Edgar vs. Maynard 3, a thrilling MMA event headlined by a lightweight championship fight featuring Frankie Edgar and unbeaten challenger Gray Maynard.

This event marks Edgar and Maynard's third re-match and their second fight for the UFC Lightweight title. Previously, Manyard scored a victory by unanimous decision in the first match held at UFC Fight Night: Florian vs. Lauzon. Last year, Edgar won the UFC Lightweight Championship against lightweight champion BJ Penn at UFC 112. The two fighters met again on January 1st at UFC 125: Resolution, with the fight ending in a split draw, and Edgar retaining his title.

Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art Presents 'A Sense of Place: Landscapes From Monet to Hockney'

Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art (BGFA) announced today that it will debut its next exhibit, “A Sense of Place: Landscapes from Monet to Hockney” on April 16.

Through a juxtaposition of images, “A Sense of Place” will present more than 30 artworks ranging from paintings, photographs and a video installation that contrast and compare both approach and expressionism in art. The exhibit will showcase landscapes by artists including Claude Monet, Marc Chagall, Helen Frankenthaler, David Hockney, Sylvia Plimack Mangold, Robert Rauschenberg, Christo, Vik Muniz and many others.

From Monet’s impressionistic haystacks painted in 1885 to Muniz’s carefully rendered pigment prints created in 2006, precise representational paintings will be placed alongside austere abstract works in order to reveal how landscape has been portrayed by artists throughout history.

“A natural follow-up to the successful figurative exhibition currently at Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art through March 27, ‘A Sense of Place’ explores another subject matter synonymous with art: landscapes,” said Tarissa Tiberti, director of BGFA. “The pieces we’ve curated for this collection truly complement one another and together they create a thorough exploration of landscape art.”

“A Sense of Place” is organized in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA) and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) and includes selections from the MGM Resorts International Fine Art Collection.

Malcolm Rogers, director of MFA, said “The exhibition at the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art is set to offer a superb stylistic range of landscapes. We are delighted to share treasures by Millet, Monet, Hockney, Lichtenstein and so many others from the MFA’s encyclopedic collection with new audiences.”

“A Sense of Place: Landscapes from Monet to Hockney” will be on view April 16 through January 2012. BGFA is open Sunday through Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Last admissions are sold 30 minutes prior to closing.

Red Bull Soundclash is a unique live musical experience that brings two bands with different sounds, styles and influences together under one roof to compete for the devotion of a room full of fans. The Academy of Country Music recently announced that country superstars Ronnie Dunn and Sara Evans will headline this year's Academy of Country Music Concerts at Freemont Street Experience in Downtown Las Vegas.

The series of free concerts are scheduled on April 1-2 and will kick off the ACM Awards Festivities in Las Vegas. They serve as an appetizer for the 46th Annual Academy of County Music Awards, held April 3rd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Known for his work with the the iconic duo Brooks & Dunn, Ronnie Dunn will headline the concert at the Fremont Street Experience on April 2nd, while Evans will headline on April 1st. The United States Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force will join forces with military and police units from Scotland and Canada in the largest military tribute show to be staged in Las Vegas. Tagged as "Las Vegas International Tattoo", the event will be hosted at the Thomas and Mack Center on April 15th and 16th and features a spectacular line-up with 500 performers.

The event, which is also the largest military music show in Las Vegas, will pay tribute to America’s forces and allies during a fast-paced one-and-a-half hour patriotic spectacle featuring representatives from four branches of the United States military, as well as pipe bands, marching bands, musical variety, Highland dancing and drama.

NASCAR legend Harry Gant to make special guest appearance at LVMS Neon Garage on NASCAR Weekend

Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) has announced that Stock car driving legend Harry Gant will make a special guest appearance in the Neon Garage during NASCAR Weekend. Gant will share with NASCAR fans from March 4-6, in the Neon Garage and also will take part in a question-and-answer session on the speedway’s midway on March 5th.

Gant's driving career began in 1963 and joined the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series ranks in 1973 and competed in 444 events. His first Cup win came in 1982 at Martinsville, Va. and built much of his fame behind the wheel of Skoal-sponsored cars (1981-1994), earning him the nickname “The Skoal Bandit.” Gant retired from racing in 1994 after winning 300 races, including 18 Cup races, as well as three NASCAR national Sportsman titles (1972-74) and 21 NASCAR Nationwide Series victories from 1982-1994.

“I’m really excited to get to Vegas. The track is a first-class facility and I love to talk to the fans. I retired not too long ago and many of them remember watching me race. It should be a lot of fun” Gant said.

Tuff-N-Uff, Las Vegas' premier amateur mixed martial arts organization, will return to the Orleans Hotel & Casino on Friday, Feb. 11, with the 15-bout event "Tuff-N-Uff: Xtreme Couture vs. Team Quest II." The event will present fighters from UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture's Xtreme Couture camp vs. Dan Henderson's Team Quest Temecula academy. Xtreme Couture claimed victory in the first meeting between the two academies, held in August 2010.

In addition to the Xtreme Couture vs. Team Quest series, the event will also feature a Tuff-N-Uff lightweight title fight, as current champion Dustin Chevalier (4-2) meets undefeated 10th Planet Riverside fighter Sean Bollinger (1-0-1), as well as a key semifinal bout in Tuff-N-Uff's 145-pound female tournament featuring undefeated prospects Tori Adams (3-0) and Ashlee Evans-Smith (2-0).

Crystals at CityCenter celebrates Chinese New Year with a golden display of a graceful rabbit. Weighing 1,200 pounds, reaching more than 11 feet in height and stretching 12 feet long, this exhibit provides the perfect photo opportunity to ring in the new lunar year.

Year of the Rabbit display at Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens
Bellagio's Conservatory & Botanical Gardens usher in the Year of the Rabbit with a unique, complimentary display through March 5th. The display was created inspired and guided by the ancient practice of Feng Shui, the art of using surroundings to attract harmony, balance and positive life energy.

The centerpiece of this year's exhibit is a 35-foot Chinese Junk Boat with a 38-foot mast inspired by traditional 15th century fishing vessels. Nearby, a 12-foot rabbit with a luxurious coat comprised of more than 4,500 live sedge plants, watches over eight babies at play within a forest of bamboo trees and Taihu rocks. Just steps away, an 18-foot-tall Chinese God of Prosperity is found amidst gold leafed I-Ching coins, a traditional Chinese money symbol. Widely recognized as the strongest symbol of good fortune and great luck in the New Year, the God of Prosperity is flanked by two Ming Dynasty-styled dings, ancestral vessels that protect against bad fortunes.

Appearing for the first time in the Conservatory, are seven replica Terracotta Warriors covered in crushed walnuts and ground carrot seeds accompanied by a horse-drawn carriage. Oversized red silk Chinese lanterns throughout the Conservatory add to the auspicious nature of this spectacular exhibit. Legend has it that Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year and 12 came.

In celebration of the Year of the Rabbit, select MGM Resorts International properties will feature specialty menus and authentic cuisine from the Far East.

The Venetian and The Palazzo Ring in Chinese New Year with Eye Painting Ceremony and Dragon Dance

The Venetian and The Palazzo will celebrate the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Rabbit with an authentic dragon dance complete with firecrackers and eye painting ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 3 at 3 p.m.

Featuring a parade of dancers and musicians dressed in elaborate costumes playing authentic music, the ceremonial dragon dance will begin at The Venetian porte cochere, winding its way through The Venetian Casino past The Palazzo Waterfall Atrium and into The Palazzo Casino, ending in the upper Palazzo porte cochere.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship organization announced last Tuesday that UFC 126 event scheduled on February 5th at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas is now officially a sell-out.

The event headlined by the Middleweight Championship bout between Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort, also features a light heavyweight bout between former UFC champions Rich “Ace” Franklin and Forrest Griffin and a 205-pound contest between rising stars Ryan Bader and Jon Jones.

Lingerie Football League is ready to host its annual Lingerie Bowl halftime special in Las Vegas on February 6th, 2011 (Super Bowl Sunday). The Lingerie Bowl VII, which has become a part of Super Bowl Sunday viewing for millions worldwide, will be played during the halftime period at Super Bowl XLV, at Thomas & Mack Arena in Los Vegas, Nevada.

Several weeks ago, Lingerie Football League officials announced that New York New York Hotel and Casino was selected as the official hotel, event and party destination partner of the 2011 Lingerie Bowl is Las Vegas.

LVMS releases schedule for 2011 NASCAR Weekend

Las Vegas Motor Speedway has released the schedule of events for the annual NASCAR Weekend running from March 4-6, with one significant change from last year – the NASCAR Nationwide Series teams will get a four-hour practice session on Thursday, March 3.

The 2011 NASCAR weekend kicks off Wednesday March 2 with the first of two consecutive days of World of Outlaws Sprint Car racing on the half-mile dirt oval. The action will continue on March 3rd with a special autograph session at 2 p.m. in the Neon Garage featuring drivers competing in the Sam’s Town 300. The speedway’s grandstands and Neon Garage will open at 11 a.m. and be free to the public.

Race and qualifying times also are set for the weekend. Both the Kobalt Tools 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race on Sunday, March 6 and the Sam’s Town 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Saturday, March 5 will begin at noon (Pacific Time). Qualifying for the Kobalt Tools 400 is scheduled for Friday, March 4 at 3:40 p.m. as part of Stratosphere Pole Day. Qualifying for the Sam’s Town 300 will be March 5 at 9 a.m.
“This extra practice day will give race fans another chance to see some of the world’s best drivers – and it’s free!. With Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards and Danica Patrick among those expected to compete in the Sam’s Town 300, the Thursday autograph session should be very popular with the race fans.” said LVMS president Chris Powell.

MMA Xplosion: International Team Challenge returns to Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Jan. 29

Mixed Martial Arts organization, MMA Xplosion, will return to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Jan. 29, for an electrifying six-fight MMA Xplosion: International Team Challenge event presenting some of the best contenders from United States, Brazil, Mexico, and Kazakhstan.

Team USA will square off against Team Brazil, and Team Mexico will clash with Team Kazakhstan. "USA vs. Brazil" event will be headlined by "The Ultimate Fighter 8" (TUF) finalist Vinny Magalhaes (5-5) and undefeated fighter Robert "Damien Knight" Scott (3-0). The series will also see welterweight prospect Chidi Njokuani (4-1) against WEC veteran Sidney Silva (8-3). Team Kazakhstan will once again be representing their country with the two Nazarov brothers, Ardak and Beibit, as they team up to face Team Mexico, which will include the ultra-tough Art Ramirez

Several other notables will be featured at this International Team Challenge event, including Casey Johnson (1-0) vs. undefeated Brazilian Pedro Munoz (3-0). Also representing Team USA will be dynamic fighters John Wood (10-5) and Chidi Njokuani (4-1), a young star who is the brother of multi-time WEC veteran Anthony Njokuani. In addition, Team Kazakhstan’s Ardak Nazarov, Beibit Nazarov, Kazybek Ashimov, and Begnar Ammanbyev, who put on an extremely impressive performance at the Joint on October 9th, will look to build off that momentum as they tangle with Team Mexico. Promoters Bob Arum and Don King set date for Cotto vs. Mayorga event in Las Vegas

Veteran boxing promoters Bob Arum and Don King have officially announced that current WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (35-2, 28 KOs) and former welterweight and junior middleweight champion Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga (29-7-1, 22 Kos), have signed up to fight on March 12th at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.

The event marks the first time in five years that Bob Arum and Don King will be working together on a boxing match. In past decades, Arum and King have worked together to promote major boxing fights, including the fight between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frasier in Manila, Roberto Duran and Sugar Ray Leonard, Felix Trinidad and Oscar de la Hoya and Floyd Mayweather versus Zab Judah.

The event also marks Cotto's first welterweight title defense since his victory over Yuri Foreman for the WBA super welterweight championship on June 5, 2010, and his second appearance in the middleweigh division.
Mayorga, who has been inactive for a few years, will return to the boxing ring after just eight fights in the past seven years. In the past eighyt fights, Mayorga scored four victories ans four loses. The four wins came against Fernando “Feroz” Vargas, Michele Piccirillo, Michael Walker and Eric Mitchell. The four losses, include three KO or TKO vs Felix Trinidad, Oscar De la Hoya and Shane Mosley.

Cotto vs. Mayorga will air live on Showtime PPV. Arum and King also announced the co-features on the PPV undercard, which also includes Yuri Foreman vs. Pawel Wolak and Donnie Nietes vs. Raul Garcia. Additional bouts will be announced on the following weeks.

Country Music artist Blake Shelton, will join forces with superstar Reba McEntire to host the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, which will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, on Sunday, April 3 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.

This marks Shelton's debut as an awards show host as he becomes the 50th host since the inception of the Academy of Country Music Awards. Shelton has been nominated for three Academy of Country Music Awards and won his first last year for Vocal Event of the Year for his #1 hit single, "Hillbilly Bone," which features longtime friend Trace Adkins.

"This is an incredibly special moment for me. I am humbled that Reba invited me to co-host the Awards with her. She is not only a mentor to me, but a true friend. She continually supports other artists, which is a testament, really, to her beauty and talent," Shelton added with a laugh. "You will definitely have to tune-in and check it out. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has announced that official weigh-ins for UFC 126: Silva vs. Belfort, have been scheduled on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, with the first fighter expected to tip the scale at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Weigh-in is for UFC126 are free to attend and open to the public. Doors to the weigh-in will open at 3 p.m. PT for the general public. UFC Fight Club members will be able to attend a Q&A session with a several fighters on that same day at 2:00 p.m. PT. Check-in starts at 1:00 p.m.

Golden Globe Award-winning actor and comedian Tim Allen returns to stand up in a big way with a ten-weekend Las Vegas residency at the Venetian Resort and Casino.

2011 WSOP dates confirmed

Caesars Entertainment Corporation, owner and operator of the World Series of Poker, has announced the dates for the 2011 WSOP tournament series running from May 31st to July 19th, 2011.

Once again, the 2011 series will be open to any player over the age of 21 and will continue to be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The 2011 World Series of Poker main event will kick off on July 7 and will feature four starting days running until July 10th. The Main Event will close the annual series, with its conclusion scheduled for July 19th after the final table is set. The final table will resume action four months later when the “November Nine” return to the Rio All Suite to determine the Main Event winner.

One of the most significant changes announced for the 2011 WSOP is the introduction of hard stop times rule for all bracelet events. Players will play a maximum of ten levels per day. Once ten levels have been completed, remaining players will have their chips bagged and tagged and return the next day to continue on in the tournament. Regardless of how many players remain in a tournament, hard stop times will be enforced after ten levels of play.

The entire 42nd Annual World Series of Poker schedule, with individual tournaments, dates, times and buy-ins will be released in January.

The United States Billiard Association (USBA) and Professor-Q-Ball promotions have recently confirmed that the annual 3-Cushion National Championships will move in 2011 to the Tropicana Las Vegas, for a four day event scheduled to run from May 10 to 14, 2011. The event will be held alongside the ACS (American Cue Alliance) National 8-ball & 9-ball Championships and is expected to bring players from across the country showcasing their skills in one of the most challenging cue disciplines in the world. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has confirmed five more fights for the UFC126: Silva vs. Belfort event set to take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on Super Bowl Weekend (February 5th, 2011).

American stand up comedienne, writer, actress and author Paula Poundstone, will bring her hilarious stand up act to the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas for a two day engagement show set to run on January 22 and 23rd at the Orleans Showroom.

Known for her razor-sharp wit and spontaneity, Poundstone began her stand up comedy career in 1979 performing on open-mike nights at comedy clubs in Boston. By 1990 she’d relocated to Los Angeles and had starred in several comedy specials for HBO, and appeared on Saturday Night Live when friend and mentor Robin Williams hosted the show.

Continuing with many successes throughout the 90s, Poundstone starred in The Paula Poundstone Show on ABC, and produced her second one-hour special on HBO titled, “Paula Poundstone Goes to Harvard”. She also appeared in several TV shows including: Cybill, Science Court, Hercules and Home Movies. In 2007, she appeared in a BRAVO comedy special, Paula Poundstone: Look What the Cat Dragged In. Poundstone is the recipient of an Emmy Award for her field pieces on the PBS program "Life & Times."

Poundstone is also a regular panelist on NPR's weekly quiz program Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me; and has authored multiple books including her 2006 debut titled “There's Nothing In This Book That I Meant To Say”. In 2009, Poundstone released her first comedy CD "I HEART JOKES: Paula Tells Them In Main" (Buy CD here).

Producers of Twyla Tharp's SINATRA Dance With Me show at Wynn Las Vegas have unveiled the cast of stars and performers set to appear in the new Las Vegas Show.

The show features a team of 14 dancers, including renewed performers Laura Mead, Charlie Neshyba-Hodges, John Selya, Karine Plantadit, Marielys Molina, Keith Roberts, Matthew Stockwell Dibble and Laurie Kanyok as the show's main characters.

SINATRA Dance with Me show follows four couples as they fall in and out of love at a swinging nightclub. Blending the legendary vocals of Frank Sinatra with a big band and spectacular choreography, SINATRA Dance With Me weaves classic standards including "Fly Me to the Moon," "My Way" and "That's Life" in a soaring dance fantasy of romance and seduction.

SINATRA Dance With Me also features original recorded masters of Frank Sinatra's voice backed by a live on-stage, 17-piece big band. The show's score combines classic vocal performances from the Sinatra catalog and archives along with signature Sinatra arrangements (Nelson Riddle, Billy May, Quincy Jones), as well as new orchestration works exclusively arranged and composed for this innovative show.

Laura Mead (Betsy) received her training from Berkeley Ballet Theater and the Juilliard School (BFA 2006). She has performed with American Repertory Ballet and the second national tour of Movin' Out (Dance Captain). Most recently, Laura appeared on Broadway in Come Fly Away.

Charlie Neshyba-Hodges (Marty) has danced with Sacramento Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Im-ij-re and Twyla Tharp Dance. Charlie is the recipient of the 2010 Astaire Award for Best Male Dancer on Broadway for his performance of Marty in Come Fly Away.

John Selya (Sid) trained at the School of American Ballet and performed with American Ballet Theatre (dancer and choreographer) from 1988 to 1999. He has appeared on Broadway in Movin' Out and received a Tony Award Nomination for Best Actor in a Musical, an Astaire Award and a Theater World Award. He has also appeared on Broadway in The Times They Are A-Changin', Guys and Dolls and Come Fly Away. He has appeared in the films Everybody Says I Love You, Stay and Across the Universe.

Karine Plantadit (Kate) has appeared on Broadway in Come Fly Away, Movin' Out, The Lion King and Saturday Night Fever. She has appeared on television in Sex and the City and Starve and guest-starred on So You Think You Can Dance. She has also made several movie appearances in films such as Frida (as Josephine Baker), Stay, Chicago and Across the Universe. She has received a Tony Award, Astaire Award and Drama League Awards nominations for her role in Come Fly Away.

Marielys Molina (Slim) has appeared on Broadway in Come Fly Away, Sweet Charity, Swing! and "Peepshow." She has appeared on television on the VMAs, SNL, Jay Leno and the Latin Grammys. Her film credits include Music and Lyrics, Idlewild and Old Dogs.

Keith Roberts (Hank) trained at the North Carolina School of the Arts and School of American Ballet. As a Principal Dancer at American Ballet Theatre, he worked with numerous choreographers including DeMille, Tharp, Lubovitch, Duato, Kylian and Neumeier as well as performing in works by Balanchine, Robbins, Tudor, Ashton and MacMillan. He has appeared on Broadway in Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake; Fosse; Movin' Out, for which he received Tony and Astaire Award nominations; and Come Fly Away, for which he received an Astaire nomination.

Matthew Stockwell Dibble (Chanos) trained at the Royal Ballet School. He joined the Royal Ballet in 1994 and in 1999 became a founding member of K Ballet in Japan. In 2002 he started working with Twyla Tharp Dance in the U.S. He has also worked with William Forsythe, Roland Petit, Ashley Page, Christopher Wheeldon, Cathy Maston, Matthew Bourne, Francis Patrelle and Benjamin Millepied. Matthew originated the role of Chanos on Broadway.

Laurie Kanyok (Babe, U/S Kate) has had an eclectic career in film, television and stage. She has appeared on the Academy Awards, the Grammys and the Tony Awards shows, as well as numerous feature films. Most recently, Kanyok performed on NBC's Shall We Dance on Ice. Her Broadway credits include Fosse, Saturday Night Fever, Movin' Out and Come Fly Away. Laurie has also switched sides, producing The Gypsy Project: An Eclectic Evening of Dance, and also Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba as assistant choreographer.

The city of Las Vegas will play host to some of the biggest MMA stars on Super Bowl Weekend, as the UFC delivers a super night of fights with UFC 126: Silva vs. Belfort, a tripleheader of explosive fights scheduled for February 5th at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

The Mixed Martial Arts event presented by Bud Light will be headlined by a UFC middleweight title match presenting the current champ, Anderson “The Spider” Silva vs. Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort.
Considered one the most gifted and dominating fighter in UFC history, Brazilian fighter Anderson Silva (27-4) has a record of 13-fight vi9ctories inside the Octagon that includes seven middleweight title defenses (another record). With victories over Rich Franklin (twice), Chris Leben, Nate Marquardt, Thales Leites, and Forrest Griffin, Silva is now preparing for perhaps the hardest opponent in his career when faces countryman Vitor Belfort.

Frankie Avalon and Bobby Rydell, two of the biggest American teen idol from the early 1960s era of rock and roll, will join forces for a three-night engagement show scheduled to run from January 15-17 at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Avalon and Rydell, two of the biggest pop music stars of the pre-Beatles era, have performed together in packed venues throughout the country since 1985, and have been called "one of the most exciting acts in show business". The 90-minute show features a performance from each star as well as a spectacular finale with the two stars performing together on stage.

UFC Octagon announcer Bruce Buffer to introduce $50,000 final game at 2011 World Series of Beer Pong

Officials of the World Series of Beer Pong (WSOBP) have announced that popular UFC Octagon announcer and the “Voice of MMA”, Bruce Buffer, will return for a third year in a row to announce the $50,000 final game table at the upcoming World Series of Beer Pong VI (WSOBP VI). Buffer’s distinctive voice will kick off the main event of the evening at the Flamingo Las Vegas on Jan. 4, 2011.

“We’re pleased to have Mr. Buffer back this year. There’s already so much excitement leading up to the World Series of Beer Pong’s main event, when you add Mr. Buffer’s distinctive, energetic voice to the mix, there’s just an electricity you can’t describe unless you’re there in person!” said WSOBP co-founder Billy Gaines.

Mr. Buffer is an ideal fit to announce the World Series of Beer Pong, due both to the competitive nature of the event and the demographic overlap between beer pong fans and some of the other popular sporting events that he announces, including Mixed Martial Arts and the World Series of Poker.

Las Vegas Bowl executive director Tina Kunzer-Murphy announced Sunday that No. 11 Boise State has accepted a bid to play in the 19th annual MAACO Bowl Las Vegas. The team make its first-ever appearance in the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas when the Boise State Broncos face the University of Utah on Dec. 22 at 5:00 p.m. PT, at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.

''We welcome Boise State to our game for the first time and by pairing two powerhouse western programs in the Broncos and Utah Utes, our committee just put together one of the top matchups of the entire bowl season. This is the one everyone wanted and we expect a full house later this month to see two ranked teams playing their final game as members of their respective conferences (Boise State joins the Mountain West in 2011 while Utah moves to the Pac-10).'' said Kunzer-Murphy.

Boise State is the first WAC representative to appear in the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas since Fresno State lost to Utah 17-16 in 1999. Boise State has played in Las Vegas three times, all against UNLV, with the last appearance coming in 1976. The Broncos will play vs. the Utes from the Mountain West Conference for the first time since 2006. Boise State leads the all-time series with four victories and two loses. Both teams have enjoyed success in the BCS and currently hold a record of two victories in BCS games. Boise State has won two Fiesta Bowl, defeating Oklahoma 43-42 in the 2007 game and TCU 17-10 in the 2010 game. The Utes have also scored two victories vs. Pittsburgh (35-7) at the 2005 Fiesta Bowl and vs. Alabama (31-17) in the 2009 Sugar Bowl.

Eric Clapton announces dates for 2011 Spring Tour

Legendary English singer, songwriter and guitar player, Eric Clapton, has announced the dates for his upcoming Spring 2011 tour, which will make several stops on the West Coast of the U.S, including a stop at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, scheduled on Saturday, March 5th at 8:00 p.m. Special guest Los Lobos will open the evening's show.

University of Utah confirmed for 19th annual MAACO Bowl Las Vegas

Organizers of the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas announced that team members of the University of Utah have accepted an invitation to play in the 19th annual MAACO Bowl Las Vegas at 5 p.m. PT on Dec. 22nd, 2010 at the Sam Boyd Stadium.

The University of Utah is currently ranked 21st in both polls and sit 20th in this week's BCS Standings, are 10-2 overall and finished 7-1 in Mountain West Conference play. Head coach Kyle Whittingham and his team will represent the MWC for the final time before beginning play in the Pacific-10 Conference in 2011. All-time, Utah is 2-0 in the event, having won the 1999 Las Vegas Bowl over Fresno State, 17-16, and the 2001 edition over Southern California by a score of 10-6.

''We are very excited about our invitation to play in the MAACO Las Vegas Bowl. It's been a while since we have played a bowl game in Las Vegas and our players and coaches are looking forward to the opportunity. The Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is gearing up to host the 10th Annual Las Vegas Classic, presented by IBN Sports. The event will be held at the Orleans Arena on December 22nd and 23rd, and will bring a field comprised by Indiana University (10-21), University of Colorado (15-16), University of New Mexico (30-5), University of Northern Iowa, Longwood University, South Carolina State University, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and The Citadel.

International athlete field and new course headlines 2010 Zappos.com Rock n Roll Marathon

Zappos.com Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon and half Marathon, to benefit the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, will once again gather some of the best athletes and runners in the nation and other countries around the world for its second annual event set to take place on Sunday, December 5th on the world famous Las Vegas Strip.

This year's race will feature a few adjustments to course. The race will kick off in front of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and will head north on Las Vegas Boulevard all the way to the El Cortez Hotel and Casino, in Downtown Las Vegas, where runners will switch over to the southbound lanes and head back down the Strip.

The entire ½ marathon course as well as the first 12.6 miles of the full marathon course will be on Las Vegas Boulevard. The full marathon will split from the ½ marathon west at Mandalay Bay Road/Hacienda until just past Jones and back while the ½ marathoners continue to the finish line in the Mandalay Bay Resort's parking lot.

In addition to the athletic competition, the Las Vegas Marathon will feature live bands, including a live performance by Poison's former lead vocal Brett Michaels, as well as themed water stations and cheerleaders along the flat and fast course. The traditional Run-Through Wedding Chapel will also continue at a new location at the Venetian Resort, where participants can get married or renew their vows overlooking the Las Vegas Strip with thousands of running witnesses.

This year’s Zappos.com Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Maratahon will host a Health & Fitness Expo presented by Power Balance and held at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. The Expo will be free and open to the public beginning Friday, December 3rd from 11 am to 7 pm and on Saturday, December 4th from 9 am to 5 pm. The Expo will feature the latest health and nutrition information with a variety of products for sale and sample as well as offer free fitness related clinics.

World Series of Poker Releases 2010 Schedule of Events

Harrah's Enterprises, operator of the World Series of Poker, has unveiled the official schedule of events for the 41st annual World Series of Poker set to begin from May 27th, 2010 with the Casino Employees No-Limit Hold'em, and final events on November 9th, 2010 with the Main Event Table.

The World Series of Poker event schedule features a total of 57 bracelets events, including three brand new poker events ($50,000 Player's Championship Event #2, $10,000 H.O.R.S.E Event #43, World Championship, $25,000 6-Handed No-Limit tournament Event #52). The WSOP 2010 event schedule includes several alterations, for example, the $50.000 H.O.R.S.E event has been substituted with the $50,000 "Player's Championship" (Event #2), featuring eight different games (Limit Hold'em, Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better, Seven Card Razz, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split-8 or Better, No-Limit Hold'em, Pot-Limit Omaha, 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball).

The first 5 weekends of the poker series (May 29-30, June 5-6, June 12-13, June 19-20 and June 26-27) will feature $1,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tournaments with two initial flights. Additionally, a sixth schedule on July 1-2, will also present the same event at the same buy-in level. The 41st annual WSOP will finalize on Monday, July 5th with the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Championship Main Event. The Main Event will take some time off on July 17th, and will resume on four months later with the "November Nine" final table playing from November 6th-9th

Other variations presented for the 2010 WSOP include several new rules that will normalize the daily amount of play, and the addition of more poker tables. According to the World Series of Poker 2010 official site, the whole convention center of the Rio Las Vegas will be dedicated to the 2010 World Series of Poker, with tournament tables in the 58,000 square foot Pavilion and the 38,000 square foot Amazon Room.

The WSOP is also giving players more than five months to register for the first poker event on the 2010 World Series of Poker schedule. Pre-registration for the 2010 WSOP is offered at the Main Cage of the Rio Hotel and Casino Las Vegas and online at the World World Series of Poker 2010 official site. Registration for all bracelet poker events will remain open until the start of the third level (approximately 2 hours, 20 minutes after start time) or until all seats are sold.

This plush hotel and casino is joined to the enormously popular Wynn Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip. As most Vegas casino-hotel investors are doing their best to find a direction to keep their hotels afloat, Wynn is having no problems with his $billion hotel investments.

The 2000 room hotel and casino is another incredible creation by Wynn. The main focus of this building will be the nightclub, called XS. Wynn has taken notice in the recent past that nightclubs are a huge attraction in Sin City, and not primarily the hotels and casinos like they used to be. Steve says that LV nightclubs as a rule produce more riches and are a massive draw for the young group.

Wynn has also created an over-the top steakhouse near the XS nightclub. Inspired by the famous Colombian painter, Fernando Botero this circular restaurant has a large Botero statue as the centerpiece. Not quite impressive as the nightclub which it is joined to; the Botero steakhouse is intended to match rather well with the ostentatious Sin City nightclub.
The inspiration behind XS and Botero is a type of St. Tropez feeling, where the celebration carries on without a break and the majority of the party scene takes place near a swimming pool or beach setting. Things are not the same in Las Vegas, where many people fancy parties to casinos at the present time.
